Monday 16th September - Brugge

We passed through some lovely little towns along the way from Brugge to Ypres, as rather than taking the major highway; we decided to take the back roads.  We came across a school group doing their "Bicycle Education Program" - and apart from three kids - all were without helmets!

We arrived in Ypres and organised accommodation at the 2-star "Ambrosia Hotel". It's comfortable and clean and ideally located to the town square and museums - and Cloth Hall.

We wandered the town centre and sought out the recommended restaurant, De Kollenbloeme and enjoyed a delicious meal of Flemish stew, served with what seems to be the norm here in Belgium, chips and salad.

We met a couple of British blokes on the way back to our hotel and they recommended we stay two nights at the Ibis Hotel in Albert (pronounced Al-bear) and visit the tunnels of Albert.

BlogSpot is being a pain in the bum ... I've spent the past two hours trying to blog this and yesterday's and today's blogs but it won't co-operate and get the spacing and font right for some reason.  So brick bats to BlogSpot.
